think big
Every now and then I have these fleeting moments of clarity. It is difficult to describe and feels as if a great mist has been lifted to reveal the perfect blue sky and limitless horizon. I try to capture these moments in writing as a feeble attempt to hold onto and act upon them. It is an exciting feeling - full of promise and so empowering. I have been trying to wrap my mind around one of the most complex professional problems that I have been tasked with helping solve. Last night as I sat in my office looking out over the campus in darkness with only thr light of my notebook and desk lamp, all the moving parts came together in my mind in a way that made me leap in excitement. It is global in scale and dwarfs anything I have done to date. You asked me to think big and I did. What a great feeling.Monday, November 06, 2006
Daybreak on the coast
The list of 13 Internet enemies An interesting article on 13 countries that censor the internet. Maybe it is romantic of me to consider the web as a platform about leveling the playing field and access to information. It is disheartening to consider that people can't access the same web as the rest of us . I edit for the world largest internet directory and we run into issues all the time where China filters access to our resources. I encourage anyone in these 13 countries and beyond to question the status quo and use internet proxies.
