It was balmy this morning on the drive up to Hood. I have been looking forward to snowshoeing all week and at long last it was time. The air was fresh and the snow was perfect. There was no other place I wanted to be but right here, and snow shoeing right now.
The sun was out and as I drove east it got progressively sunnier yet colder during our ascent. It was Scrumpy's first romp in the snow and she had more fun than everyone. The trails were pristine and the silence in the forest made it all worthwhile. It was nice to see snow again.

by the way, i'm reading this possibly silly book (silly because i hate self-help books), "the power of now"...but it's all about living in the moment...i remember a comment you left on my blog once about everything starting right now... don't know if you want to check out the book...?
